A complete inquiry does not have to be polished. A partial asset list, a screenshot of the measurement setup, or a note from the quality manager is often enough to start. The important part is context. Instrument selection changes when the same device is used in product validation, energized maintenance, or incoming inspection. It also changes when a certificate must be attached to a customer file, internal deviation report, or regulated production record.
